![]() ![]() This work helps to bridge the imposed and colonial political, linguistic, and economic divide that has been problematic in indigenous communication in the Americas. Through strategic placement of responses of indigenous scholars in their interviews, Meyer and Maldonado have created a collective overview of the current state of the indigenous movement of comunalidad, the revival and restoration of indigenous thought, politics, and community that characterizes the "rise of the indigenous mind and consciousness" worldwide. This is one of the first times such a diverse group of indigenous activists have given voice to their unique and creative dynamics of resistance to the new forms of colonialism. Lois Meyer and Benjamin Maldonado Alvarado have provided an invaluable resource in their interview of Noam Chomsky and their facilitation of analysis of his thoughts by leading indigenous activists and scholars from throughout the Americas. ![]()
